The Okanagan Heritage Museum holds a large collection of First Nation artefacts and the Ethnography Gallery offers visitors a chance to explore collections from Central and South America, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. Go back in time and visit a pioneer Chinese grocery store or step inside John McDougal’s trading post built in the 1860s.
The Education & Public Programming department of the Kelowna Museums offers guided tours and specialized group programs for all ages at all four venues: the Okanagan Heritage Museum, the BC Orchard Industry Museum, the BC Wine Museum, and the Okanagan Military Museum. Call us today to book your guided group tour, (250) 868-4836.
The Okanagan Heritage Museum is home to two important facilities: the Kelowna Public Archives (link to Archives page) which serves as a public research facility, and the Ursula Surtees Regional Conservation Laboratory (link to Conservation Lab page) which services the Kelowna Museums Society’s collections and artefacts as well as other collections across the Okanagan.
