Venue: The Kelowna Museums are pleased to present the Okanagan Regional History Fair for the fourth year in a row. To be held at the Okanagan Heritage Museum and the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna BC. Event Description: What is it? Celebrating Canadian History! Our Fair is entering its fourth year and encourages students to explore Canadian heritage in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. What do students do? Students use the medium of their choice to share stories about Canadian heroes, legends, milestones, and achievements- and present the results of their research first at a class fair/ library fair/ school fair and then for a selected few, at the Regional Fair. What happens at the Regional History Fair? In a fun-filled day, participants display their projects to each other, and are interviewed by a select panel of members of the community, then take part in unique heritage activities and workshops at the Okanagan Heritage Museum and the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Why participate? Enhances LITERARY SKILLS with an emphasis on communication skills Supports CROSS-CURRICULAR IRP requirements Encourages ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP by celebrating the roots, colours, and achievements of our people Grades 4-9 English and French entries welcome! Judging for the History Fair will take place on Friday, May 8th by a panel of community judges. On Saturday, April 17 the public is welcomed to come view the array of student projects on display at the Rotary Centre for the Arts.
